On Top at Home and Abroad

We all owe a big thank you to Appalachia.

From 2008 to 2018, 85% of all natural gas growth in the U.S. has come from Ohio, West Virginia and Pennsylvania. This abundance of natural gas is only possible because of the development of shale formations in Appalachia.

As a result of this development, the U.S. is now the world’s top producer of oil and natural gas. This is important to America’s foreign policy, as it allows us more autonomy in international negotiations. But, more immediately, it means a better life for American families.

Over the past ten years, natural gas users have saved $1.1 trillion. That means $9,000 of savings for every American household.

“America’s energy abundance has positively transformed our country’s energy outlook by delivering shared economic, environmental and security benefits for all. Consumers, from families to manufacturers, continue to be the clear winners.”

That’s how Jerry James, president of Artex Oil and co-founder of ShaleCrescent USA, recently put it in The Hill. We agree, and we think most American families do too.
