AOC Uses California Fires As A Platform to Push Her Green New Deal

October 29, 2019

AOC’s latest tactic to promote her radical Green New Deal: exploiting tragedy.

The Hill reports:

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) on Monday pointed to the catastrophic California wildfires as evidence of the drastic effects of climate change.

“This is what climate change looks like,” the liberal firebrand said in a tweet.

“The GOP like to mock scientific warnings about climate change as exaggeration. But just look around: it’s already starting,” she added, linking to footage of wildfires in Vallejo, Calif. “We have 10 years to cut carbon emissions in half. If we don’t, scenes like this can get much worse.”

What AOC fails to see is, if implemented, the Green New Deal will skyrocket energy prices for every American, eliminate millions of energy jobs, and cripple national securing by taking away American energy independence.

Power the Future conducted a report that dove into the cost of the Green New Deal. Americans in five states we examined can expect to shell out over $700,000 per household in the first year alone.

And that’s just in the first year. We can’t imagine the scene of economic turmoil in 10 years if this socialist plan is passed.
